I have always had a passion for caring for others. My journey began as a teenager when I helped care for an elderly neighbor with dementia. While I didn’t fully understand the disease at the time, I did understand that she needed patience, love, and compassionate care.

I moved to the United States from Montego Bay, Jamaica, in 1998. Years later, I pursued a career in medical assisting. Although I stepped away from the field for a time, my desire to care for others never left. I later worked with individuals on the autism spectrum, continuing to build my experience in caregiving.

In 2016, the passing of my grandmother, who had dementia, deeply impacted me. That loss strengthened my commitment to helping others in similar situations, doing for them what I wished I could have done for her. I went on to work in memory care for several years, supporting individuals and their families through challenging times.

In 2020, I became a Certified Nursing Assistant and began working with hospice clients. While the work was bittersweet, it was incredibly meaningful and fulfilling.

In 2022, I joined Visiting Nurse Private Home Care as a caregiver, and it immediately felt like home. In 2024, I was offered the opportunity to transition into a scheduling and administrative role. Although it was a new challenge, I embraced it with determination. With the support of Ms. Katie, Ms. Sylvia, Ms. Bernice, and Ms. Brittany, I have grown tremendously and continue to learn each day.

I look forward to continuing my growth and remaining a dedicated member of the Visiting Nurse team for years to come.
